Medical Information

Medical Procedures

  • Generally we would say that if children are in need of non-prescriptive medicine in order for them to be in school then we would ask for parents and carers to consider whether they are well enough to be in school that day.

  • Where medical advice has been given saying children are well enough to be in school but medicine has been prescribed we will need parents/carers to fill in a medicine authorisation form at the school office, indicating you give us permission to give out medicine at a given time. We would also need to the prescription information before we can do this.

  • Where children need to have a permanent medical prescription in school a 'Medication in School' form must be completed. Following that we will put procedures for storing and administrating the medication into place.
