Coding Club will begin after the Easter Break 2019 and is open to all Children from Hoath and Chislet Primary Schools. Children from Chislet Primary will be ferried by the school to Hoath Primary, with the aim of starting the club as close to 3.30pm as possible for one hour every Monday in the main hall at Hoath Primary.
Think BIG Coding has been developed as an after-school club delivering fun coding sessions to primary-school children. These sessions link into the newly overhauled National Curriculum. We deliver easy-to-follow projects in Scratch, Python, WordPress, HTML and CSS where children learn to make and evaluate their own animations, games and websites. We also use Anki Cosmo and other coding activities allowing children to develop coding skills using a multitude of tools.
Think BIG Coding is an approved “Public Learning Destination” for Kent Children’s University™. This means that we are authorised to issue Learning Credits in participating children’s Passports to Learning. We are so proud of this partnership as the Validation process shows that our methods for inspiring children meets with the Quality Assurance process of National Children’s University™ Trust. We have recently introduced an award system similar to that used in Martial Arts (Kung Fu - achievement through great effort). All children signed up to Think BIG Coding Club receive a white wristband. As they develop their skills, children can work their way through a variety of colours all the way up to a black wristband! We also provide reports to schools, so you are fully aware of what we are covering and run regular competitions for the children.
The clubs run on a termly basis and are payable in advance per term at the cost of £3.80 per session (£22.80 per six-week term).
