Welcome

Letter from Headteacher

Dear Parents and Carers,

After the announcement made by The Prime minister it is with sadness that learning for most children will now be provided remotely - on-line for the whole of Term 3. The teachers are in the process of ensuring all their planning is available from the school website.

Chislet Primary will be open for children of key/critical workers (please see the Government's definition below), children with EHCP's and those who are eligible for Free School Meals, from Monday 4th January, 2021. We will be open from 8.40am until 3.20pm and there won't be a staggered start or end to the day. I'm afraid we will not be able to offer Breakfast Club this term. The children don't need to wear uniform.

For those parents who are key/critical workers, can I please request that you only send your children into school when you need to go to work. As the Government advises, the safest place for everyone is at home.

Just to clarify, all children in Class 1 and 2 are eligible for Universal Free School Meals (UFSM) but it's only those children who's parents have successfully applied for Free School Meals (FSM)  from KCC, who are eligible to attend school at this time. If you would like to check to see if you are eligible for free school meals please go to https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/free-school-meals . Your eligibility will be checked and your application processed straight away. If your application is successful the school will be notified by email immediately and your child should start receiving their free school meal within 24 hours. We are assuming that the voucher system will resume and if so, each child who is in receipt of FSM will receive a £15 voucher per week during lockdown. However, if the children attend school they will receive a free school meal and not a voucher.

I hope that I have managed to answer most of your questions, but please contact the school should you need any further clarification.

Thank you for your continued support.

We all send our best wishes and hope that everyone stays well and safe.

 Kind regards,

Mrs A Noake

Message From Mr Sanders

Dear all, as you will now know, school is only open to a small number of children. This is a difficult time for us all and our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. This is not what anyone wanted and the thought of not being together until mid February or later is one that I'm sure we are all very sad about. During this time we, as a school community will be trying very hard to support each other but it is very important that you do not hesitate to contact us if there is something we can help you with. It might be a practical problem with home learning but it could just as easily be a case of feeling isolated. Either way please contact us so that we can try to help. We send all of our best wishes and kindest thoughts to you all. Stay safe and we look forward to the time we can all come back together in school. Mr Sanders.

Life is a wonderful journey of learning. Chislet School nurtures all individuality and growth through a supportive and caring family. Everyone brings something special to our school. Using our Christian values we aim to nurture what they have brought, encourage it to transform and watch it flourish within our community and beyond.

New Admissions information for September 2021

Dear Parents,

Thank you for showing an interest in our school and enquiring about Open Sessions. Due to the current situation with Covid-19, we are doing things differently this year and asking prospective parents to, ideally, tour the school virtually. We are in the process of setting up a link on our school website that will enable parents to watch a virtual tour around the school and hope that this,         alongside the prospectus and Early Years Handbook (also available on the school website), will give all parents the information they need to make an informed choice. The link should be available  on our school website www.chislethoathfederation.co.uk . very soon.

If you would like more information please do not hesitate to contact the school on 01227 860295 or email office@chislet.kent.sch.uk

Welcome to Our School

Chislet Church of England Primary School is a small village school set in the beautiful fields and farm lands between Canterbury and Thanet.

As a small school we are very proud of the family environment we work very hard to create; a close and supportive community where children can feel safe to develop their skills and further their learning and where all members of our community can support each other. We ensure that our vision is met using Christian values of RESPECT, TRUST, CARE and PRAISE. These can be found within our procedures, interactions and every day life.

Please enjoy searching  through our Website to find out about the many wonderful things our children achieve.

“The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection.”

“Many commentated favourably on the caring, family atmosphere of this small school. One wrote, ‘We are privileged that our child attends such a special place where their academic and emotional needs are met with such care and attention.’
